Recently, I developed a custom API integration between Rentman and e-conomic using PHP to fully automate invoice creation and accounting workflows.

This integration automatically syncs projects, customers, products, and invoices between the two platforms without manual data entry.

What This Integration Does

The system connects the Rentman API with the e-conomic API using webhooks and custom middleware.

Whenever a new project is created or updated in Rentman, the workflow automatically:

  • Fetches project details
  • Retrieves customer information
  • Syncs equipment/products
  • Creates customers inside e-conomic
  • Generates invoices automatically

This removes the need for manual accounting work and significantly reduces operational overhead.

Rentman to e-conomic Workflow

1. Project Creation in Rentman

The admin creates a project in Rentman and assigns:

  • Customer details
  • Rental equipment
  • Project dates
  • Pricing information

2. Webhook Trigger

When the project is updated or created, Rentman sends a webhook request to a custom PHP endpoint.

3. Fetch Project & Customer Data

The middleware automatically:

  • Retrieves project information
  • Fetches contact/customer data
  • Retrieves assigned equipment and pricing

4. Customer Sync with e-conomic

The system checks whether the customer already exists inside e-conomic.

If the customer is missing:

  • A new customer is automatically created using the e-conomic API.

5. Product & Equipment Sync

Equipment and products are validated against e-conomic.

If products do not exist:

  • Products are automatically created and mapped.

6. Automated Invoice Creation

After syncing all required data:

  • Invoice lines are generated dynamically
  • Totals are calculated automatically
  • The invoice is instantly created inside e-conomic
