e-conomic API Integration with Rentman for Automated Invoice Creation

Recently, I completed a custom API integration between Rentman and e-conomic using PHP.

The goal of this project was to automate the complete invoice creation workflow and eliminate manual accounting work.

Project Workflow

The implementation works as follows:

1. Project Creation in Rentman

The admin creates a project inside Rentman and assigns:

• Customer
• Equipment
• Rental details

2. Webhook Trigger

When the project is created or updated, Rentman API sends a webhook request to a custom API endpoint.

3. Fetch Project & Customer Details

The system automatically:

• Retrieves the Project ID
• Fetches customer/contact information
• Gets all assigned equipment data

4. Customer Sync with e-conomic

The integration checks whether the customer already exists inside e-conomic.

If the customer does not exist:

• A new customer is automatically created through the API.

5. Equipment/Product Sync

The system checks whether equipment/products already exist in e-conomic.

If missing:

• Products are automatically created and mapped.

6. Automated Invoice Generation

After syncing all required data:

• A final invoice object is generated
• Invoice lines are added dynamically
• The invoice is automatically created inside e-conomic
